Making Small Stamping Tools

This class focuses on making your own stamping tools from tool steel. We will cut, carve, harden, temper and polish small tool stock to create simple stamp designs. These stamps are best used in combination to create more complicated patterns and textures. This technique also makes great chasing tools, such as liners and matting tools for repousse. The material fee covers enough steel for three tools, and more will be available for purchase.
